Twitter Chats for Learning Professionals

UPDATED 3/28/12

I frequently participate in #lrnchat, a weekly twitter chat for learning and performance professionals.  I find the the Twitter chats (or tweetchats, as they are commonly called) format to be a great way to expand my learning and to connect with new people in my field. I also find writing reflections of those discussions to be a great way to solidify what I learn during the chats.

This post shares details of chats that learning and performance professionals may be interested in participating in.  I will keep this post updated as new chats emerge.

NOTE: The descriptions listed below reference Eastern Standard Time in the United States. If you, like me, struggle with converting times to your local time, use one of the free conversion tools, such as Time Zone Converter.

Perform Chat (Next Chat: April 11th, 2012)

PerformChat (#performchat) is about working collaboratively. The intended audience is those interested in supporting improved workplace collaboration and performance.  This chat is designed particularly for those interested in how we can supporting learning as it happens naturally and continuously in the workflow – not through designed and managed training solutions. Leaders, managers, those in charge of end results,  and others  involved in performance change are especially welcome.  The chat will happen  on the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 3-4 pm ET, 9 pm BST.

Clouduc8 (Next Chat: April 4th, 2012)

Clouduc8 (#clouduc8; pronounced cloud-u-cate), takes place on the first Wednesday of each month at 12pm EST. This chat is focused on learning within the cloud. Topics include cloud based tools and technologies, evolution of learning in the cloud, content curation, semantic languages for describing learning, design and development of web based learning, using xml, and more. Chat-2-Learn (Next Chat: March 29th, 2012)

Another recent addition to the chat calendar is #chat2lrn, which is scheduled to take place every other Thursday at 11am EST. This chat will explore and discuss how the social and business environment, especially the digital experience is changing the world and how that impacts learning and the way that we operate and function within it.
