Up To All Of Us Backchannel: Collected Resources #UTAOU

I am a huge proponent of backchannel learning. There are many events I would love to be able to attend, but my budget can only accommodate one or two each year. The backchannel is an excellent resource for learning from a conference or event that you are unable to attend in-person.

I find collecting and reviewing backchannel resources to be a valuable learning experience for me, even when I am attending a conference in person. Sharing these collections on this blog has shown that others find value in the collections as well.

This post collects the resources shared via the backchannel of the Up To All Of Us event, held February 24-27 in Sedona, Arizona.

Note: Up To All Of Us was not a conference by the definition of conference most of us use. It was more an unconference – an event without much of the structure and scheduled lecture presentations found at most conferences.  The overall theme of the event was to explore how technology impacts learning and society, and to see what happens when you bring together 40 or so individuals with the drive, know-how, and passion to actually do something about it.

While I was unable to attend the conference in person, I was able to see from the backchannel that this event hit on those expectations, as well as exploring other unexpected areas the unconference approach makes possible.  As event host Aaron Silvers said at the start…

“This is your conference, all I did was summon it.”

One additional note about the resources: This wasn’t an event of presentations and PowerPoint slides.  Most of the content was generated on the spot. As such, I’ve created a section entitled ‘Behind the Curtain’, which shares pictures of some of the notes, sketches, and experiences attendees shared from the event.

I will be adding to this list as I continue to review the backchannel transcripts and find resources. I will tweet updates occasionally as additional links are added. If you know of a valued resource I should add to the list – or if something is inaccurate – please add it to the comments or tweet me a link to @LnDDave.

If you find these collections of value, I have posts that consolidate the backchannel resources from other conferences. An archive of all of these posts can be accessed by clicking the link below: Click here to access the archive of backchannel resource posts.
